Ekpang Nkukwo also speaks of Uwem (life), because its rich blend of grated cocoyam, water yam, and periwinkles wrapped in cocoyam leaves carries nourishment and vitality. It is regarded as Ediye —beautiful—not only in its colorful presentation but also in the harmony of flavors that come together in the pot. Above all, this dish is fit for Usoro, a party, a king's feast, or celebration because whenever Ekpang Nkukwo is served, it turns an ordinary meal into a royal experience.
